It amazes me how much I seem to forget about teaching... or what seems to slip away. For example...
- Organization - my student teacher is unbelievably organized. I used to be that way. I have learned that organization is not the center of a teacher's life, but it certainly can help to alleviate the stress of it!
- Parent contact - why is it so hard to contact parents? Too many phone numbers, times of day, email addresses, not enough time. They want to hear from us. Argh! They need to call me too!
- Lesson planning - again, my student teacher seems to do so well with this - making every problem planned and for a reason. I keep catching myself 'winging' it. I hate 'winging' it, but I'm good at it. How much better would I be if I weren't just 'winging' it?
Well, I guess it's lunch time. I love teaching, but I'm taught so much more...
